Thoughts to Dwell on

I wrote this piece of poetry when I was about 14... so its a bit old... but I was re-reading some of my stuff and decided to share this with everyone.

This is my piece I entitled, "Music&Life"

My music, all music does justice unto the soul; it fulfills all life,
Music is a never-ending language, under which different people can unite,
It is a language of love, strife, peace and disheartenment,
It can be written upon even the poorest of places, my hand, or parchment.

But, whenever someone begins to play,
Everyone gathers ‘round, even those previously astray,
They congregate to soak in the scores, the bars and the sweet melodies,
Everyone is at peace, if only just for a moment, revelling in serenities.

But music also provides a listening ear,
For you see, when written, music is a blissful release,
One where man and melody are in harmony
Perfect peace.

For music portrays the feelings of its writer,
From joyful Canons to romantic Sonatas,
Music is the lifeblood of society’s intelligence,
Because even one note show’s how far we’ve come,
And it will continue like this until the end of days with most art,
But we especially remember Chopin and Bach and Mozart.

So I sit, pen in hand,
And now I can surmise
Music will never collect its toll,
It always says the truth, and never lies
Ever flowing and touching lives,
Forever fulfilling the soul.
