Melanie Fiona - Somebody Come Get Me (Backyard Impromptu Style)

You know her. Another Toronto artist making a successful cross-over down south. She's mad talented and this video shows the grass roots of that. She's toured with Kanye and Jay-Z has appeared at her artist showcasing. With all that's going on right now with Drake and artists like Melanie Fiona...all eyes will be on Toronto.

R.I.P. J Dilla

This photo just really hit me how this guy really endured for the fans till the very end. Truly an inspiration and one heck of a producer.

Need Me Some MORE Air Yeezy's

That's right ladies and gentleman... drumroll please........ The next installment in the Air Yeezy Trilogy is set to drop @ select retailers SATURDAY, MAY 2nd, 2009! The black/pink colourway is probably the most favoured of the three, but judging by the overnight lines at many exclusive sneaker shops... these are going to sell just as quickly if not faster than the last...

Mr. West has done it again...

How It All Got Started

Now we've always been influenced by music and its producers and artists but watching Ryan Leslie work and document the creative process on Youtube the way he did kinda gave us that extra push to really get that Yamaha Motif and start working. So on and so forth and now the tape is on it's way.

Note From 8-Bit

Greetings all. Just an update to let you know that we are in the studio and are actively working on this 8-BIT Mixtape. It will be dropping soon and when it does it will have been worth the wait. New music from the tape will be posted soon as well so that you're not waiting for the entire completion of the project. The whole idea of this tape was to showcase the production talent of 8-BIT first and foremost (Wuddup Silas!). The artists featured on the tape are either members of 8-BIT or affiliates. Please leave comments if you are interested in the release of the tape. If the feedback is good on this first one, definitely expect more to come. So far what we've been showing people, well let's just say there will be more to come. Once the entire project is complete, I think all will see the vision that we are creating.

Thoughts to Dwell on

I wrote this piece of poetry when I was about 14... so its a bit old... but I was re-reading some of my stuff and decided to share this with everyone.

This is my piece I entitled, "Music&Life"

My music, all music does justice unto the soul; it fulfills all life,
Music is a never-ending language, under which different people can unite,
It is a language of love, strife, peace and disheartenment,
It can be written upon even the poorest of places, my hand, or parchment.

But, whenever someone begins to play,
Everyone gathers ‘round, even those previously astray,
They congregate to soak in the scores, the bars and the sweet melodies,
Everyone is at peace, if only just for a moment, revelling in serenities.

But music also provides a listening ear,
For you see, when written, music is a blissful release,
One where man and melody are in harmony
Perfect peace.

For music portrays the feelings of its writer,
From joyful Canons to romantic Sonatas,
Music is the lifeblood of society’s intelligence,
Because even one note show’s how far we’ve come,
And it will continue like this until the end of days with most art,
But we especially remember Chopin and Bach and Mozart.

So I sit, pen in hand,
And now I can surmise
Music will never collect its toll,
It always says the truth, and never lies
Ever flowing and touching lives,
Forever fulfilling the soul.

Where the Wild Things Are

Man I grew up on this! I can't believe they made a movie based on one of my favorite children's books. Produced by Tom Hanks and directed by Spike Jonze, so expect it to be on point. Funny how the mind of a child can make us realize that there are no limits to the imagination.
